If you do not own a flashlight or have one in your home, you should really consider purchasing one. Flashlights can come in handy for many different tasks around the house. It can help your children have a better time playing or help you finish the project that you need.

The children in your house will definitely enjoy a night time game of tag in the neighborhood. Adding a flashlight to the game will make it that much more exciting. Flashlights can be made of several different materials. The most common and probably least expensive are the flashlights that are made of plastic. The plastic flashlights tend to be very light and easy to hold for an extended amount of time.

Some flashlights are made of metal or steal. These are most commonly sold to security guards or construction workers. The construction workers can be very hard on their tools so the heavier the metal the better. Never in my life have I used a flashlight that was this darn bright and powerful. It only runs on those double AA batteries which are easy to pick up anywhere. So if you are out in the bush fishing or hunting you could grab a new set of batteries from the local shops or service station on the way out.

I like to use my rechargeable Eneloop batteries as they have a very good shelf life. By that I mean once they are charged they can sit in the flashlight for six months and will still work when you go to turn the torch on which make these far better than most brands.

In comparison to a 3D cell mag light the maglight is no match at all. The Fenix TK40 LED blows the mag light away on run times, light throw, brightness, functions, weight and size. This flashlight is about 2/3 the length of the maglight, with the thickness about the same. It fits in your hand really nice and is comfortable and balanced to use.

Also there are another series of modes you can use which are SOS flash, slow flash, fast flash and strobe. The SOS feature is a great idea as if you get lost it could really save your life. The other flashing functions could be used for emergency beacons an example would be if your car has broken down on the road at night.
