Protecting Biodiversity By Protecting National Parks
The price we have paid for the progress that the world has made through development is the destruction of nature. The forests, rivers and the seas have been used for its natural wealth since the dawn of industrialization. The natural wealth has been indiscriminately exploited without concern for environment or the future. Within decades of industrialization, the negative impacts have been rapid that today this has become immediate global concern. Some of the issues that are debated and action taken are global warming, loss of biodiversity, the fresh water crisis, climate change, and pollution of water, air and land. Corresponding to the deteriorating environment, there has been an increasing awareness on the crisis as well as the environment. Government initiative, public support and private interest have taken environment to the centre stage. Protection of the remaining natural habitats has become the primary agenda now.
National Parks are the most captivating areas amongst the areas that have become protected areas. These areas are declared National Park by law by respective national governments. The primary intention of notifying the area thus is to ensure that the area is not subject to human interference and development, and the resultant pollution and destruction. By 2006 there were already 6,555 National Parks in the world. The number has risen since then dramatically.
These National Parks are ideal locations for camping. The experience can be both enlightening and learning. Usually camping is done in small groups. The campers take off from their busy life for a few days to experience nature in all its glory. They pitch a tent surrounded by the forest and all its life forms. They bear up with the weather. All they carry with them are what they can hold in their backpacks. They carefully pack with them just the things they need to survive with minimum comfort. The camping equipments invariably contain camping tent, a minimum protection from the vagaries of nature. Camping tents are manufactured by many firms such as Kelty, Marmot, MSR, Black Diamond, Sierra and Eureka. These tents accommodate one to ten persons. For instance, the Marmot Aeros 3 person tent accommodates three.
The National Parks have restricted entry. They are invariably open for the purpose of scientific studies, and educative and recreational tours. The entries are restricted and regulated by Park authorities. Government provides grants and allocates staff to protect the National Park and its biodiversity. The campers who visit the National Parks are expected to be responsible tourists.
National parks have been built for many purposes, thus, everyone should do everything to handle it with care. If national parks are taken cared of, one generation to another will surely gain benefits from it.

How To Pick The Ideal Camping Tent
You’ll find nothing more fun than been out of doors and camping. Just what better way of experiencing the raw beauty of nature than through careful planning and preparation. One can not deny the fact that folks these days are used to having the basic conveniences of living. This leads to the number one priority in setting out for a camping trip - the camping tent.
There are a variety of common factors that one must consider in buying the right camping tent. If you opt to go for a higher quality tent then you’ll need to be willing to spend more money. Nonetheless this is certainly not always the case. If you can afford to spend more on your tent, then Big Agnes tents are of superior quality and they are very durable. In the mid-price range, Coleman sells good quality tents. Ozark or Great Trails would comprise the lower end camping tents on the market.
The amount of folks that will be using your tent is certainly the very first thing you ought to consider. This will usually determine the appropriate size as well as the style. Talking about style, you’ll find numerous styles to pick from. The dome style’s circular shape provides wind resistance aside from its being small and very simple to set-up. In the case of having a good number of campers like 4 to 9 people, family camping tents ought to be chosen. The umbrella style offers spacious head room for many people and it is well-ventilated.
Yet another style that will house many people is screen houses. Compared to the previous style, this offers first-rate ventilation. For the seasoned backpackers and campers, the A-frame style tent and also backpacking tent would be the ones to pick because it is light-weight and straightforward to set-up. The latter also comes in various sizes for 2 to 4 people.
Another factor to take into consideration will be the kind of conditions the tent will have to cope with. This will consequently lead to buying according to durability. For those with limited funds and those who’ll be going to fairly good camping locations, the two-season tent is among the cheapest in the market. The three-season tent is considered the most popular due to the fact it is sufficiently durable to cope with rainfall through the entire seasons except winter.
For extreme weather conditions, the four-season tent is recommended. It is meant for heavier winds as well as snow compared to the previous style for this sort of tent is comprised of a higher class of fabrics and extra poles for increased strength.

How To Keep Dry While Camping?
Camping in the great outdoors is fun and also a great way for family and friends to bond. Most people prefer to camp outdoors during clear, sunny weather. The prospect of rain makes them put off their camping plans. Rain is part of nature and brings with it several wonderful experiences. However, rain can ruin your camping trip if you are not well prepared. Here are few tips on how to keep dry while camping.
Your tent is an important part of your camping equipment. Selecting the correct tent will help you to keep dry when camping. When looking to purchase a tent, always choose one that is waterproof, not just water resistant. Water-resistant tents are just that, resistant to water, but not water proof. Even if you do have a waterproof tent, it is a good idea to put it on a tarp or ground cloth. This creates a moisture proof barrier between the tent and the ground. When you have set up your tent, make sure you use some waterproof spray on the seams. This can be obtained from any outdoor or hardware store. Always use all of the parts that come with your tent, including the stakes. The stakes are very crucial to your tent, the help to maintain the structural stability of the tent in adverse weather conditions. Most tents come with a rain fly which covers the door area of the tent. If your tent doesn’t have one, you can substitute a tarp. Just hang the tarp from some trees and make sure that it does not touch your tent. Make sure to either slope the tarp or place a stick under it to make sure the water runs off of it.
Choosing your spot is important if you hope to keep yourself dry. Choose level and higher ground where the tent can be set up properly. Look for evidence of previous water runoff in the spot that you have chosen. Make sure there is enough room for your tent and the ability for water to run off away from the tent. Never place your tent on the bottom of a slope, water always runs downhill.
Packing lots of rain gear and several changes of clothes is a good idea. You will need a good rain jacket, that is 100% water proof. Cotton and demin is often chosen by campers for its warmth, but unfortunately it is not very water resistant and takes a long time to dry out. If you plan on camping in the rain, choose polyester or micro-fleece materials. Create a separate area for your clothes to be dried out when they get wet. When the rain stops, you can hang your clothes on a branch to let the wind dry them out. Rain proof shoes are always an excellent idea when camping in the rain. Make sure to always pack lots of extra socks, nothing is worse than walking in wet socks.
While camping in monsoon, ensure that your sleeping arrangements suit the weather conditions. Get sleeping bags made from synthetic materials instead of down. The ground may get wet in spite of the precautionary measures you take so it would be a good idea to elevate your sleeping bags using cots or airbeds.
Following some of these basic suggestions can a long way in making your camping trip a memorable one for the right reasons.

Sleeping Bags For Camping
Sleeping in the open is very enticing. All one need is a cozy bed, blankets, bed sheets and a pillow. But while going camping, lugging all of them is a nightmare. But this is easily solved with a sleeping bag. Sleeping bag resembles a zipped up bed. It provides insulation, comfort and the warmth. The main attraction is that this is something that anyone can take along while traveling. It prevents the chill from creeping in. It protects from the wind. It protects the user from the outside. It is easily transportable along with your backpack. Sleeping bags are made of insulating materials such as synthetic fill such as PrimaLoft, or down, cotton or wool. Campers usually prefer the synthetic or down sleeping bag. The insulation is good and water absorption is minimal. It can be folded. The down fill bag can be compressed and retain heat better, but synthetic bags are cheaper.
Sleeping bags come in two shapes. They are the rectangular shaped and the mummy shaped. The rectangular shaped sleeping bag looks like a folded blanket closed at its sides with a zipper. The bag can be easily folded and tied together tight with cords or straps. The mummy bags, as the name indicates, resembles a mummy. They are broad at the shoulder end and tapers down closing at the bottom. The heat is retained better in this type. But this has to be rolled up unlike the rectangular sleeping bag which can be folded easily.
There are a number of reputed firms that produces and sells sleeping bags. Marmot, a firm that sells sleeping bags, also manufactures Marmot tents, backpacks and clothing. It manufactures both Synthetic Bags and Down Sleeping Bags as well. The synthetic sleeping bags of Marmot includes Marmot EcoPro 30 sleeping bag, Marmot Pounder sleeping bag, Marmot EcoPro 40 sleeping bag, Marmot Trestles 15 sleeping bag and Marmot Trestles 30 sleeping bag. The down sleeping Bags consists of Marmot CWM sleeping bag, Marmot Helium EQ sleeping bag, Marmot Never Winter sleeping bag, Marmot Col EQ sleeping bag, Marmot Synthetic Yurt sleeping bag, Marmot Down Yurt sleeping bag, Marmot Atom sleeping bag, Marmot Lithium sleeping bag an Marmot Arroyo sleeping bag, besides others.
The decision on which sleeping bag to buy has to be based on a number of factors in which the primary concern will be the cost of the bag and your budget. Most sleeping bags suit both the hot and the cold weather. When it is colder, one can zip up the bag fully and open it up more when warmer. But you need to go in fro sleeping bags made specifically to withstand sub-freezing temperature if that is the situation. When it is wet, the synthetic fill bag is better than the down bag. The down bag is better under dry weather conditions.
When you go camping out, make sure to always bring Marmot manufactured sleeping bags. They are the best and you’ll surely get what your money’s worth.

Yummy Campfire Treats
One of the greatest things about camping is the campfire. Some of my favorite things to cook are sausages, bean soup and grilled chicken. After grilling, we love our desserts and our favorite is the S’more. A S’more is basically a roasted marshmallow between graham crackers, with some chocolate inbetween,
A classic S’more tastes great but they start to get boring when you have had them for days and days. Basically add some twist to the original recipe to get new campfire dessert ideas. You can make a mix using tiny roasted marshmallows, some peanuts, honey graham cereal, raisins and naturally some chocolate chips. Toss the ingredients in a plastic bag and shake it to mix. Serve it in cups and enjoy the sweet and crunchy treat.
Campfire desserts are not all about marshmallows though. Many campfire dessert recipes involve using fresh fruits like bananas, peaches and apples. Baked apples make simple, tasty and healthy desserts. They are also easy to prepare. You will need a few apples, brown sugar, raisins, cinnamon and aluminum foil. Core an apple and place it on a square piece of aluminum foil. Stuff the core of the apple with the raisins, brown sugar and a pinch of cinnamon. Then wrap the foil around the apple and toss it on the coals to bake. Take it off the coals after ten minutes or it may burn. You can modify the recipe by filling the apple with some other kinds of stuffing. You can try using butter and caramels or even whipped cream.
You can also merge different kinds of fruits, cereals & nuts to make healthy campfire treats. Kids love treats like banana boats, eggs on toast, baked peaches. To make banana boats, you will must peel back a section of the skin from the banana. Take care that you do not remove it entirely. Then generate slit down the exposed portion of the banana. Gently pull aside both sides of the slit & generate a pouch which you can fill in with nuts, chocolate chips, peanut butter & marshmallows. You can vary the fillings as per your choice. Then pull the peel back over the banana. Wrap the banana in aluminum foil & let it roast on the coals. After about ten minutes, take the bananas off the coals. Remove the foil & dig in to the warm, sweet, nutty treat. You can bake peaches in the same way that you bake apples. Pit the peaches & cut it in one. Sprinkle some sugar & cinnamon over the peaches & wrap them in tin foil. Then toss them onto the coals & let them bake for some time. Let them cold & remove the foil. Enjoy the warm, caramel peaches. You can also make a fruit cup by mixing tiny bits of fruits like bananas, melons, grapes, apples, pears etc. Mix the fruit with some yogurt & serve fresh.
When you look up recipes for campfire meals, make positive to check for items like sticky buns, angel cakes, campfire muffins etc. They are simple to make & children will enjoy them for positive. You may even make your own pies over campfire. For this you will must bring along your some canned pie filling. Butter some bread & place it on a pie iron. Layer it with canned pie filling & place another slice of bread on top with the buttered side up. Close the pie iron & let it bake for some time.
You can find many more wonderful campfire recipes. Spice them up by adding your own touches and rest assured that everyone will enjoy the treat.

Buck knives are a very familiar brand to many who have spent anytime in the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, or camping. They seem like they’ve been around forever, generation after generation. They are as familiar as that trail you’ve walked a thousand times, or that favorite hunting or fishing spot that keeps calling you back year after year. And while everyone knows what to expect from a Buck knife, it’s time everyone took their outdoor knife work to another level and started looking forward by looking back at the Buck 119 Special.

Without the appropriate camping equipment and tools your camping trip can be quickly turn into a frustration. That is why many people who actually tried using Coleman recommend using Coleman camping equipments. When camping there are 2 classes of camping equipment and that is personal needs and other things that maybe helpful. Under the first category includes camping tent, camping lantern, camping stove, dining kit, first aid kit and other camping supply that we need to have to live through. And the other classification is not as essential as the first but only necessary to maximize fun, similar to air mattress or sleeping bag, coolers, tent fan and basic tools such as knife and shovel, etc… Bear in mind that we camp for the sake of fun and not to punish ourselves by doing complicated things with our bare hands.
Coleman offers most of the items we have to have (besides food) in order to have a successful camping trip. Starting from its various size tent, available are 4, 6, 8 person and family size tents. Camping Cooking Supplies And Choosing Them Right
Camping is a sport that became popular in the early twentieth century. It is loved by people of every race, nationality, gender, and age. You can go out and rough it alone or with family and friends. There is almost nothing like the feeling of waking up in the morning to the sound of birds chirping, not honking horns. I would say the best part about camping though is the food! Cooking outdoors can be a great experience or downright awful one. You need a whole new set of camping cooking supplies instead of those used in your kitchen. Dutch ovens, aluminum foil, mess kits, cook sets, and charcoal all make up some possible things you might need.
Those supplies can include a ton of things, literally a ton! When you are trying to figure out the supplies you might need for cooking outdoors you have to think about a couple of things. And in my humble opinion the first question that I always ask myself or my group, is how much do we want to carry? If you can answer that correctly you will choose the correct supplies that are needed and you won’t be miserable!
How do you cook at camp? With some sort of heat source right? There are a few options to select for your choice of heat. Those options are campfire, charcoal, and gas/propane. There are a couple good things and a couple bad things with each option obviously but this is when your camping cooking supplies come into play. You wouldn’t want to use a Dutch oven when your heat source is propane right? Because the purpose of the Dutch oven is lost when you do that.
Another thing to consider when you are shopping around for your camping cooking supplies is how it is packed, especially if you fall into that backpacker group that I talked about earlier. Various companies over the years have poured tons of money into making the perfect item for you to carry around that is compact yet user friendly. There are some cookware sets out there that can fit into a small sack and can weigh only a couple pounds.
Utensils, untensils, utensils! What a novel idea! Something that helps you cook that infamous chili that everyone loves and craves. A great example of the common utensil is the wooden spoon. It will last for ages and ages, doesn’t transfer heat, and they are surprisingly difficult to break.
Bowls and Sporks that is what I use when I am camping. Actually only one of each, but you get the idea. I use one of those new squishy bowls to eat with, I can stuff it into the smallest nooks and crannies and don’t need to worry about a thing. A spork is an amazing invention, a spoon on one side of the handle and a fork on the other. AMAZING!
One thing that I can’t do without when I’m camping are smores! It’s like baseball to sports, it’s camping’s favorite pastime. Load up a marshmallow onto a skewer, load that guy on a chocolate bar, and then load everything onto a nice gram cracker. Telling jokes and sharing stories around the campfire is a great way to eat these lovely snacks.
When you finally do choose whichever camping cooking supplies, the final decision is yours and only yours. But this comes responsibility because you can choose something totally wrong and be miserable for the rest of your trip. Welcome to the stress-free world of camping outdoors!
