Antalya Turkey: A Mediterranean Vacation

Just on the inner side of the Mediterranean coast is the Antalya Province. Within its walls you will find Antalya, which is the capital. If you haven’t heard of the area before, you may want to mark it down for your next vacation. You’ll be able to experience breath taking views, a long line of history, and a mixture of cultures making this area in Turkey very intriguing.

Start with the Beaches:Whether you plan on taking in all the activities or just a few, the beaches are a great place to start and finish. One of the favorites is Lara Beach, where surfers hit the waves, tourists enjoy the sun, and others just stroll along feeling a sense of relaxation.

Take a walk along the red-bricked sidewalk in Kararalioglu Parks Lara Halk Plajı, with its unique red and white street lamps on one of the longest brown pebble beaches on the Mediterranean ocean. If lying out in the sun is more your style, then enjoy a chaise lounge in the Lara Strand, just east of the Club Hotel Sera.

Located west of downtown, Konyaalti beach provides additional options for beach goers. With both white rock and imported sand, the Konyaalti Plajlari stretches for miles on the western side of the Antalya bay. Walking along the Konyaalti beach provides magnificent views of both the Mediterranean ocean as well as the Toros Mountains. Consider renting a bicycle to ride along the beach, or taking a long walk between the resorts located on the beach.

If you happen to go in June, you can enjoy the IASSF event. This is short for the International Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival that’s been held annually since 2006. Famous sculptors from around the world visit this area just to show-off their masterpieces. Definitely a once in a lifetime chance to see them close-up and personal.

Feeling Pampered During Your Stay:One of the most important aspects to your vacation is the ability to stay in a nice place. The best part about Antalya is its way of making things affordable to everyone. No matter your financial situation, the accommodations can fit everyone’s budget. Plus, each place is clean, friendly, and located in between various activities and places during your stay. The easiest way to book your trip is by speaking with a live agent.

What You’re Missing:While everything we discussed is magnificent, there is so much more you’re missing. Just understanding that Antalya has a long history of Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottoman times will help you enjoy the surroundings. When you first get here, be sure to just take a look around. Soon you will notice hints of different cultures in the designs of the area.

If you enjoy harbors and the water, then you’ll have to visit the old Ottoman Antalya and harbor. The history alone is enough for an individual to take notice, but the nightlife and activities surrounding the area are unmatched. Whether you need to find restaurants, cafes, shops, chartering, fishing or anything else, you can find just about everything here. Even if you and your loved one want to take an evening cruise it’s available. While the views are beautiful in the afternoon, the nightly scenery is pure serenity. Just look for the charter tours that are available and get a better glimpse at what you’re missing.

Finding the Right Weather:Whenever you travel to Antalya, it’s important to understand the weather patterns. On average you’ll get about 300 sunny days a year. Thanks to the Toros Mountains, the area is protected by northern winds that reduce all those 100 degree days. If you’re looking for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation, make sure you take one in Antalya, Turkey.
